Thanksgiving

So here I am again. Day two.

Writing in my Peaceful Waters Retreat. This time, I share it with you.

Thanksgiving 2025. This day means so much to the people of this nation. It is a time to be thankful for all we’ve been blessed with. A time to love. A time to be grateful for all we’ve been given. A time to have joy. A time to mourn who and what we have lost along our pathways that led us to this very day, while remembering the good, the laughter, the fun, and the peace.

Love and loss can happen gradually or suddenly. In a moment all has changed. Either our life is filled up to a place of abundance and overflowing, where it seems we are on top of the world or we suffer great loss and look to the sky with our hands raised high asking, “Why?”

No matter the outcome of our day, we raise our hands to our Lord and Savior, Jesus and to God, the Father in heaven above and say, “I surrender all. I trust you with all. You are a good God who gives perfect gifts.” Even though we may not understand or see the gift for the blessing it brings today, we move to the next with grace and mercy, saying, “Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto thee,” as the old hymn recounts.

No matter what place you find yourself in today, do not believe the lie that life is not worth living. You are a blessing to those around you and your unique creation has a destiny and a purpose to fulfill. That means, we need you. Tomorrow is not only for you, but those around you that are part of your family, your tribe. God has a good and perfect plan for you. Praise Him for all He has done and remember, you are genuinely loved and a special gift to those around you.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. Job 11:18 NIV

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV

You are more than enough.

Love,

Rita Ann
